Chances are pretty good that the code your using to read this was created by a person on the autism spectrum.
Currently, insurance companies cover almost nothing to help people on the autism spectrum pay for necessary and proven treatments and medication. Therapies that help them function and be productive members of our society.
As it stands now, almost the entire cost of therapies is paid for by these individuals or their families.
Believe me, I know first hand.
Basically, insurance companies view autism spectrum treatments on the same level as plastic surgery.
