DC has a population larger than the entire state of Wyoming. Residents of the District have decisions made for us by Congress who absolutely do not represent us, as they have their own constituents.

This makes me angry on election days. I have opinions. I pay taxes. I’m an American citizen. I’m politically informed. My career is excavating the information that will end up helping to inform our knowledge about American history. I don’t have a vote living here.

This city doesn’t have a vote.

I’m sure all of YOU know this, because you’re all smart, delightful tumblites. Oh, and your hair looks great today! But I have encountered a surprising number of people who don’t know that DC doesn’t have a vote in congress, that the price a US citizen pays for living in our nation’s capital is losing her voice. So. Maybe let some people know, yeah?
